Working on a stumper question....
6:44 AM on Mar. 10, 2009
I've been working on a question that has stumped me on and off since yesterday. Perhaps if you read this you can help. I attended my friend's bridal shower Sunday and I was working on a ribbon hat or ribbon bouquet for her while her other friends were helping her to open presents.

One of her friends said they would like to know who invented the tradition of the ribbon hat or ribbon bouquet. I told her I would try to find the answer since I am a librarian and I have been trying but I am stumped. In case you don't know what a ribbon hat or ribbon bouquet is I will explain so there is some background information. The ribbons from the gifts presented to the bride are taken off the presents carefully. They are then taped or tied usually to a paper plate. This paper plate becomes a ribbon hat for the bride to wear or a ribbon bouquet for the bride to use during her rehearsal dinner. I will keep working on this but if anyone has information please let me know.
