Aware's JPEG2000 Image Server is a Web-based software application designed to provide efficient access to JPEG2000 images via a browser. Image Server is designed as a stand-alone application or for use by software developers and systems integrators. The Aware JPEG2000 Image Server enables the development of web-based image viewing applications that leverage the scalability and features of the JPEG2000 standard.
The core technology of the Aware Image Server is the Reformatter, which enables the user to select regions of interest and resolution levels of an image to be extracted from the master J2K and presented as JPEG images in the browser.
By working with compressed data on the server and transmitting only the data required for display, users can efficiently view, navigate, and zoom into large images very rapidly. The Reformatter enables clients to view large, high-quality images and associated metadata in standard web browsers without the need for a plug-in or any other client-side software.
ArchivePack is everything the digital library or archive needs to begin working with and delivering JPEG2000 files in a distributed environment. ArchivePack bundles the necessary software, licenses, and support for creating, manipulating, and integrating JPEG2000 with new or existing web sites and applications.
